Meet Luwanda Jenkins
Luwanda W. Jenkins has over 25 years of effective results-driven leadership experience in the areas of community relations, supplier diversity, and public-sector minority business enterprise program development. Luwanda currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for The LEADERship, a program of The Greater Baltimore Committee. Before joining the LEADERship, Luwanda served as Vice President of Community Relations and Diversity for the Cordish Companies, a privately-owned, global real estate development company specializing in entertainment, gaming, and sports-oriented development.
In addition to various roles in the private sector, Luwanda spent 20 years in the public sector having served as Governor Martin O’Malley’s Special Secretary for The Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs where she was instrumental in leading several reforms and initiatives which generated record gains in the area of minority and woman business inclusion in State contracting. This is familiar territory for Luwanda who served in a similar capacity in both the Glendening and Schaefer administrations.

  A NATIVE BALTIMOREAN

As an extension of her professional role, Luwanda is a native Baltimorean who is engaged in numerous civic activities and leadership roles. She is especially interested in the topic of women and leadership and has frequently moderated forums, and published articles on the topic.  Throughout her career, she has continued to serve on numerous Boards and has been recognized for her various contributions.
Luwanda is a graduate of Towson State University and the Johns Hopkins University where she received her master’s degree in business management. She is married to Bryant Jenkins, and together they reside in Baltimore County. They are the parents of two young adult children who have successfully completed college and have embarked on careers with major corporations in the areas of digital media and technology.
